I grew up in Cornwall on the Lizard Peninsula and my surroundings are a constant inspiration and influence to me. I produce work derived from my interest in life and death cycles, the seasons and natural plant and animal forms. I have a fascination with the sinister side of nature and predatory creatures.
Emerging myself in the creation of a painting or producing a piece of glasswork is when I feel the most contented. Using Inks with their fluidity I am able to blend and persuade their flow on the paper or canvas, so it forms elements of the painting.
At the moment I am developing techniques that will enable me to transfer my drawings/paintings into glass.
I have studied at Falmouth University gaining a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Crafts and Plymouth College where I attained a City & Guilds creative skills certificate in Stained Glass. More recently I completed the National certificate of Further Education in Glass. Level 2 Art & Design and became a member of the Lizard Art Co-operative Stable Yard Gallery. Trelowarren, where I exhibit paintings during the spring & summer months.
